The contemporary era has introduced new forms of living; indeed, the disintegration of the concept of family unity has pushed towards an increasing willingness of affirmation of one’s own individuality, reflected into the need of personal spaces and devices. Besides, together with the new declination of humanism, a more flexible attitude of conceiving spaces has arisen. The hybridization between the interior and exterior finds its expression in the concept of “home”, conceived as a place of passage due to the new nomadic man’s attitude. So, the project Sensitive Enclosures tries to respond to the new habits, generating a rugs’ system able to be configured, changing its skin and form. The textile element becomes a personal wearable device, able to adapt to man’s needs and different spaces.
