Versatile system: reconfigure through space and time
Nicole Chmet
The subject investigated in this thesis is the theme of versatility related to spaces. The prerogatives that a versatile space must have are analyzed, and a methodology to follow is developed, which is applicable to different environmental temporary conditions.
Different configurations could be defined and, being something that changes over the time, it is one of the dimensions that have to be taken in account, both in terms of duration and strategy of appropriation on the space. Moreover, the size, shape, quality and how they could change must be considered to compose the system.
Then, the established principles will be applicated to the Autodromo Nazionale di Monza to provide it with innovative multifunctional spaces able to adapt to different situations and all the types of users.
