Real-time space: the prospect of temporary multifunctional

With the acceleration of urbanization and globalization, no matter the constantly changing tenant needs, the occurrence of urban emergencies, or the changes in contemporary working methods, have all caused traditional interior spaces fail to meet contemporary changing functional needs. How to improve the efficiency of space use and let the same interior perform diverse identities at different times? Since 1900, designers studied varies ways to realize multi-functional space, for instance, flexible indoor elements, multifunctional furniture, and modularity space design. Moreover, interactive architecture and bio-architecture research show the possibility to realize real-time space design and personalized space customization.
