The use of natural antimicrobial coating surfaces as a design approach for preventing COVID-19 pandemic spread

COVID-19 is a respiratory disease that transfers not only between two people, but also between exposed surfaces and individuals, which makes people have surface phobia, a fear of touching various kinds of surfaces, including architectural and interior ones, in order not to get infected by the virus. Meanwhile, natural antimicrobial materials such as copper and its alloys have been scientifically proved to be the least material the virus survives on comparing with other materials. The paper is a new approach of using mentioned material in spatial surface coatings, in which healthy design will be the new norm that shapes our everyday spaces.
